Wealthy greetings to you.
I am going to address all three of you in this post, mainly to save on
the cost of publicating more than one of these missives, if you don't
mind.
Firstly, Laytron. As I have told you in all my letters to you, which you
mostly ignored, the reasons for my act were numerous, and well
explained, so your reaction, or lack of it, surprises me. For a leader
of a House that boasts with being the authority on commerce and
economics, you certainly do not display those fine traits, although I do
hope someday you will. What I did was within my right and
responsibility, nothing more and nothing less, since you and your House
left me with no other less aggressive choice, even when I offered you at
least two, both of which you have turned down. I cannot say I am sorry
for what I did, for I would fail my Lord if I did not abide by what I
have promised to Him, I only regret that unfortunate sequence of events
led me to my act, when things might have been resolved in a far more
peaceful way, had you only approved my request in the first place.
Secondly, Saltaern. While I understand that you wanted to have your say
in this, by making me an enemy of your city, I also find your reaction
puzzling, since you knew very well why I removed the shrine to my Lord
from your city, while Hashan still had the misfortune to have you as
their Seneschal, and that I only acted within my rights, as head of an
Order, and given the circumstances Hashan was thrown in at that time. I
can also understand that you have acted reflexively, having no other
option than to issue an edict of my enemy status with your city, which
means very little to me, now that you have finally shown what and whom
you represent. Furthermore, I did not expect to learn you were lacking
experience in differentiating the breaking and entering into a private
property from being taken into that private property, since the
classification of my act as breaking and entering private property is
pretty much wrong. But, those are minor details only, so why should we
worry about those?
And lastly, to Aviolana. Perhaps you have also been mislead, like
Saltaern was, or given inaccurate information, perhaps, but out of all
three of you, your reaction surprises me the most. How easily a former
Crown Merchant Oversee forgets the agreement we made concerning that
shrine in your Househall? True, it was only a verbal one, since we both
agreed no written agreement was required, but given the fact that your
House has breached that agreement, why are you so appalled by my action,
when such result was already a part of our agreement, in case either
side in it breaches it, as your House most certainly did. If I cannot
trust your word, then how do you expect me, or anyone else for that
matter, trusts you in the future? To be honest, I did expect you will
make me an enemy of your House, although I have expect that will be
backed up with a valid reason, or any reason at all. Yet, you provided
none, which supports my belief you in fact had no valid reason to enemy
me. True, I did enter your House without permission, or a permission
coming from any appointed leader of your House, to be more precise, but
the fact is that I was lead into your Househall, without having to use
any force to do so. Certainly, you might feel you should punish the
person responsible for allowing me entry into your Househall in the
first place, but do not forget I was the one who tricked him into it, so
he was merely my tool to achieve something I promised you I will
fullfill. In that sense, any other member of your House might have been
in his place, so I hope this is a valuable lesson when it comes to the
security of your Househall. I do not expect my status with your House
will change in the near future, or ever, since the reasons for my act
still remain, unfortunately, though I hope to see improvement in those
aspects, someday.
One more thing all three of you should know, the property you claim I
have destroyed is actually a SHRINE TO MY LORD, and since He appointed
me for Head of His Order, taking care of His shrines is also my
responsibility, which means no other organization can claim ownership
over any of His shrines, or use them for bargaining, both of which the
Crown Merchant House tried to do, and part of the reasons why you lost
that shrine, after all
Because of that, the accusation I have destroyed private property, which
happens to be the shrine in question, and well, some particular runes on
a totem that for some reason reacted to my presence in your Househall,
that harmed me in the process of the removal of that shrine, nothing
else was destroyed.
But, should you wish, I am prepared to pay for the exact damages my
presence in your Househall caused, with the exception of damages for
caused mental anguish the destruction of my Lord' shrine had caused to
some of you, once you present me with the list of the costs of necessary
repairs.
In the end, I would like to entice all of other individuals or groups
who feel offended, harmed and troubled by my act to contact me freely,
and express their concerns to me. I will gladly respond to any and all
concise and valid arguments, without any prejudice and as soon as
possible.
