Goryllin,
What an enjoyable work of fiction that was! Should you ever wish to hang
up your spurs as a Champion, you have a glorious future as an author
ahead.
I regret that you feel it necessary to terminate your ally status with
the Crown, although the insults you weave into your post only serve to
indicate that your oath of allegiance had been weakening for some time.
Of course, as you are aware, the relationship between you and the Crown
was initially strained by your acceptance and, I believe, completion of
a contract on a citizen - I wonder if you would have accepted a contract
on a Cyrenian, one suspects not. But then it is a rare individual who
can take an oath as a city ally and live that oath with all his heart.
You fell short, that is nothing to be ashamed of.
We appreciate your past service, and although your words of slander will
make continued good relations difficult, know that I at least will
continue to offer the hand of friendship to you, even if I wish I had
had the chance to do so more privately. I do not share the need to
trumpet my personal business to the world outside, the need for public
validation, drama and sympathy, but I do understand it and so, bear you
no ill will.
Go well, sir knight.
Regards,
Saltaern Sioraiocht, Seneschal.
Penned by my hand on the 7th of Chronos, in the year 484 AF.
