Hail to the diverse populace of Sapience!
With the return of Lord Phaestus, the Smith, we have seen a surge in the
spirit of Industry throughout the realms! Many welcoming celebrations
and contests have occured in His name. For this upcoming year, I am
hosting a contest available to any mortal with an eye for design. This
is a tailoring design contest, and you do NOT need to be a tailor to
enter. The only criteria is that the design must be craft or industry
themed.
For the year 482, send me a signed letter or message including your
entry. As stated, the entry must be themed for craft or industry. For
example, a blacksmith's apron, or toymaker's vest. There are so many
possibilities!
Entries must be in the following format:
Type: trousers
Appearance (short_desc)
brown suede trousers with green leaves
Dropped (long_desc)
Brown suede trousers have been dropped here.
Examined (extended_desc)
Soft dark brown suede trousers have small, green leather leaves
appliqued along the soft waistband and around the bottom of the legs.
Green leather piping trims the pocket tops and the outer leg seams. They
mould smoothly to the contours of the wearer, yet provide for the great
flexibility of movement required by an active life. The trouser legs
flare at the bottom and brush the top of the feet.
The winner will have their design created free of charge, along with a
prize of 20 credits! Any close runners up will receive lesser prizes to
be determined based on the merit of the designs themselves.
To save you a trip to the craft hall, here is a list of possible design
types: jerkin, tunic, blouse, bodice, shirt, sweater, breeches,
trousers, loincloth, leggings, skirt, kilt, slip, dress, gown, cassock,
robes, toga, nightgown, vestment, boxer shorts, bra, garterbelt,
stockings, panties, corset, vest, coat, cloak, jacket, doublet, cape,
surcoat, tabard, shoes, hat, beret, boots, socks, bandana, slippers,
veil, sandals, bonnet, ribbon, mask, headband, headdress, cap, gloves,
belt, blanket, shawl, sash, scarf, apron, handkerchief, mittens.
Good luck!
As always, seek me out if you have questions regarding the Lord Smith.
In the words of a wise man, "To be true to Industry and to serve the
Smith is not to dabble, but to commit yourself to become an artisan of
unparalleled skill, regardless of your trade. The image of the smith
labouring at his forge is the most common visualisation of this virtue,
but it is not the sole one. Some build great monuments of stone, others
forge weapons of steel, cut precious stones, weave the tapestry, engage
in agriculture.. all of these are manifestations of Industry. Apply
yourself, and your path to service becomes clear."
