Your Threats

Patriot Jaizsur,

I do not speak on behalf of Vizier Tanaar or the City of Shallam, yet I
felt unable to read your words without comment. Shallam has publicly
stated what has long been the case, its continued protection of those
lands which lay within the shadows of its walls. Our people have often
shown especial regard to those that live around us and it is but our
duty to offer this protection. Likewise, Ashtan's responsibilities to
its close neighbours have never been questioned.

Thus far I was willing to grant you and others the misunderstanding that
is common between mortals. Yet your most recent words must cause bile to
rise in many men's throats as you entreat Shallam to give safe passage
both to the agents of Lord Babel and of the Twin Lords. You would have
us stand aside and allow Oblivion to wander these lands freely, even
into our own homes. You would see the burgeoning pockets of nothing
swell into vast oceans of annihilation, consuming Forest, Sea and Land
in a silent and blind conflagration.

If you wish to manufacture war against our people for your own
amusement, then no doubt we shall endure and continue to pay homage to
Creation's bounty with our lives. But you, you will be but another petty
warmonger and fool, who looked at an incoming storm and chuckled his own
life away.

I have little faith that you will discover a new found wisdom, so I look
forward to defending the land of my birth.

Sir Alban Stormcrow

Penned by my hand on the 8th of Aeguary, in the year 481 AF.
