That which matters most

Hail,
If Devotion were truly that which mattered most to an individual, they
would not have found themselves Excommunicated. It seems to be a case of
mouths saying one thing, and actions saying another. Choices were given,
and now people will have to live with the consequences of their
decision.
I have heard many people claim that the Church does not have the power,
nor the right, to force a Devotion user to choose between his or her
Devotion and home. Considering recent events, I am sure these people
will not disagree with me when I point out that the Church does, in
fact, have both. In much the same way, I might add, that Oakstone
appears to have the power and right to reach into every corner of the
land and punish those who inadvertently destroy plants when detonating
holocaust bombs in defence of their lives and homes.
While it is, of course, unfortunate that so many had to lose the
benefits of Devotion, it is far less unfortunate than entire populations
choosing to reject the warmth of the Light in favour of the tainted
company of Chaos.
I am sure that those with intelligence will not attempt to view my words
as an official statement by, or on behalf of, the Holy Church of Achaea.
I have no authority to do so, and do not wish to claim otherwise.
In service,
Sir Antonius Agarwaen.
