Announcing The Prosperian Athenaeum and Our Procurement Efforts

Good tidings, Sapience.

With great pride, the city-state of Cyrene announces that renovation of
the Lyceum is complete and now boasts the addition of a grand public
library within that complex. The library is called The Prosperian
Athenaeum, in honour of the wealth of resources which will soon be
available within those walls and our beloved and recently retired patron
who very much supported Cyrene and this project. Now that the actual
construction is complete, we move with great enthusiasm into the next
phase - breathing life into the structure and making it a place where
scholars and artists alike can be found day and night.

Our ambitious intent is to create an unparalleled center of learning,
complete with research and scholarship representing the diverse
philosophies, histories and view points of civilizations across these
lands, alongside our own. There are halls donated to philosophy, world
history and exploration, combat and arts and literature, along with a
general area for books that do not fit these categories.

Already, a selection of wares is available for purchase. These items
include unique letters for formal occasions, journals and a manuscript.
Soon, additional letters and journals will be added to those wares. A
grand opening is in the works, and will be announced as the details
become available.

All authors and organisations are hereby invited to submit works to be
showcased within these esteemed halls of culture and scholarship.
Houses, Orders, City-States and other organisations may well have
existing works they would like to make available to represent their
history, philosophy or culture. Individual scholars, researchers,
historians and artists have the opportunity to showcase their personal
talents and points of view. Whether it be a scroll or full tome, we
would take great pride in adding quality, sane works of all varieties to
our collection. Timed right, they might even be available for the grand
opening.

HOW TO SUBMIT:
-------------

The Cyrene Library Committee is hard at work with our unilateral focus
on the procurement of volumes for this project. Members as of this date
include: Tael, Jaran, Kaelyn, Crathen and myself.

1. We do not take works into our collection without permission from the
author or organisation.

2. We are glad to pay for any materials or costs involved in this
process for accepted works.

3. There are a variety of options available in donating a tome:

a. If the tome is sealed, the author can go to New Thera's Library,
where a copy can be made by the talented scribes there in simply
minutes. They supply the journal as well.

b. If the author wants recognition of authorship at the highest level
but has not sealed the tome and wishes not to, the author can purchase
the parchment of his/her choice and manually create a copy for the
athenaeum.

c. If the author/organisation prefers, our committee will manually copy
his/her work into a new volume. In such cases, we give credit to the
author and include notation that we have taken the volume with
permission from the author/organisation within the tome. We can also
indicate that it is a reproduction and cite the place of the original
work, as appropriate and upon request.

Please note that in order to preserve the integrity of these works,
scrolls and manuscripts should be sealed as part of this process.

Also note that if a given volume fits two athenaeum halls equally well,
two copies will gladly be accepted.

Tomes can be mailed or hand-delivered. If you wish us to cover expenses,
I do recommend confirmation of that first.

I'd like to close with a note of clarification. Please do not confuse
our acceptance of all philosophies into this athenaeum as endorsements
of all views. It is, perhaps, only through the dissemination of
knowledge that our true similarities and differences can be fully
understood - and that which makes us unique as the peoples of this realm
fully appreciated and solidified. Our true identities as individuals and
as cultures can only be clarified and reinforced through such an
endeavor.

Stay tuned for news on the grand unveiling as we breathe life into our
dreams here in Cyrene. In the meantime, please do talk to a committee
member or myself if you have works you wish to see upon our bookshelves
or any questions or concerns.

I thank you in advance for your support of this project.
