For the love of all that is holy, chaotic, evil, or worth buying, please
cease the idiotic practice of emptying village stockrooms of all their
steel, silver, or other high demand comms. Some are doing this in a
misguided attempt to 'hurt' Ashtan's economy (or, just as likely, it was
a stupid explanation for a stupid act). Driving up comm prices will only
end up hurting everyone. Please, always leave at least 10 comms on the
shelf.

I don't know all of the base prices of comms, but here are some:

Steel 83gp
Iron 50gp
Cloth 25gp
Leather 33gp
Silver reputed to be 83gp, but high demand and slow restocking make it
hard to come by. 200 is the lowest anyone seems to have seen it in
years.
Gems 333

If you are paying more than this, it is because people have repeatedly
bought the stock down to zero. If you allow the stock to replenish, and
sit on the shelves a bit, the price will go down to the base price.

The scroll HELP COMMS says essentially the same thing, but the message
seems to be lost on some folks lately.
