Good, Evil, Muzzy, and other things not my business

After hearing quite a bit of the latest news posts, I have found
myself more than a little confused by the most recent events. I am
a forest dweller, setting foot in cities only when truly necessary,
and must be a bit slow when it comes to the realms of the politic.
From what I have seen, it seems a well intentioned, yet apparently
misguided youngling saw what he thought was a spark of promise in the
eyes of one of his supposed enemies. While I have never found myself
completely with the philosophy of any city, much less the nearly
extremeist views of the cities of Good and Evil, I have, at the
same time, never been completely at odds with them. I have,
however, seen those whom I have always known as enemies act civilly
towards me, and at one time, even thought that it meant they were
indeed not my enemies. In that assumption, I learned a hard lesson.
Those whom I've seen as enemies may very well be so, despite various
acts to the contrary.
It seems that this is a lesson Muzzy has yet to learn, yet his city,
or perhaps, ex-city, seems so wrapped up in its rhetoric, that it
will not give him the chance to. While the city should stand by
its values, should it not also be understanding of simple
childish naivety? I can't say I would expect Mhaldor to respond
any differently, so perhaps I should not expect Shallam to,
but this way of teaching in the city confuses me.
In the forest, naivety ends quickly, for one reason alone,
survival. To survive you must learn the lessons life throws at you,
and life throws them hard. In the city, lessons are thrown with no
less speed, but without room to learn. If you take the first one
in the face, as most are wont to do, should you not be allowed to
step up and try again? Because by cutting ties with Muzzy, an
ally to the cause of good, two things are being done.
1) You are ignoring a soul who will strive for the same
goals as yourself.
2) You are crushing the aspirations of a youngling,
whose only fault was believing that deep down,
people are not all bad.
Do I care who wins the war between Good and Evil? Not in the
least. I have as many enemies in Shallam as in Mhaldor, but
neither because of their beliefs nor alignments. They are
simply those that work against what I DO care about, Nature.
But this situation doesn't affect me, it merely affects Good
and Evil. But with situations like this, they seem more
and more alike with each passing day.
