Ah, in my cursory glance at the Cyrenian news boards in the last few
months has turned up a rather concerned community of Cyrenians. For you
see they have just read the new ring binded addition to the codex, an
excellent last ditch attempt to retain temporal power, or to wipe clean
the slate of previous fumbles with a thin vineer of rule enforcement.
While I have yet to see the Prelatory-Infalliablity law to come in, this
is a pretty good start.
So, you've set the bar for all the priests and the paladins of the world
in one vulture swoop. Forgive me for saying, but what a wonky bar it is.
I had originally assumed this new rule book would include some general
rules, say..not attacking certain alignments or innocents. But I did not
expect such throughness.
You have single handedly judged, upon your own well known and famous
even-handedness which Lady Miramar was quick to agree the chruch was
well known for, You have singled handedly judged every single denizen to
be fit or unfit, not only that, but you have done it with poor
accounting and just terrible calculation, you could have at least been
pedantic enough to mention city denizens. Not all of us have the wise
council of Lady Tarah, a Divine Matron who expects Cyrene to fall into
corruption any day from the sound of it, Lord Pentharian who advised
Alban so very well, and another two Divine leaders of the church I have
not had enough contact to recive the standard jading I have come to
unfortunately expect. We are forced alas, to rely on our own mortal wit,
therefore, when you hand us a new piece of well written leglislation, we
react with questions. Why is the line drawn at these? How will these
rules be enforced, will there be any offers of cooperation or talk?
Firstly, it would have been kind to have made it easier to obtain this
new piece of work, I tried and found it worryingly difficult. I wish
this rectified if I myself am to make sure I don't end up minefielding
my fellow citizens by coming to them tainted with the strange idea that
it's quite alright to mindlessly slaughter anyone who isn't on the miss
list. Even as they stand in the room screaming as i'm tearing into them
with blades, cackling manically and drooling from my mouth, as we
corrupted people do from time to time. That's okay, no problem, just
don't touch that person on the list!
Secondly, I ask how this document will be enforced. It is quite obvious
you cannot trust a Cyrenian priest, one who has, for many a year been
quite careful and fair. To know who is right to attack and who is wrong,
so do you trust us enough to tell you who is being naughty then? Will
the church rely on intelligence gathering? Will the age of the
questioning in cities without their cooperation begin? I can only speak
for my city-state, but this seems to put us on a bad foot. Eyebrows have
once again been raised at the church,
Lastly, I do not expect petitions from Cyrenian priests and paladins to
be returned by threats from the church, of course, I only have the word
of a Cyrenian that threats were made, but these words are worth just so
very much more.
It is unfortunate I have felt the need to post, as far as I knew, I was
reasonably upstanding. Funnily enough, I find myself once again becoming
a heathen for thinking impure thoughts and practising impure ideas.
