The Lunar Precepts and Art

Of the many things I love of my Lady's realm, Her precepts are what
initially drew me to Her. Inspiration, Imagination, Wisdom, Change...
all of these things are part of who I am as a person, and very much so
as an artist. These four things are quite important in the life of an
artist, and I personally can attest to that. Here is a breakdown of how
each of the Precepts of Lady Ourania affects the Artist throught his
life.

IMAGINATION

Imagination is the pool from which the artist draws his creativity.
Without an active and healthy imagination, the artist's work can not
have that special touch all pieces of art must have in order to be
unique. It is most important for the artist to constantly feed the
imagination by observing the world around him, and adding to his wealth
of knowledge.

INSPIRATION

Inspiration is essential to create ANYTHING. Many artists can go months,
even years without creating a single piece of art, due to lack of
inspiration. It is up to the artist to seek inspiration, and to
determine those things in the world ESPECIALLY inspire him. Inspiration
may come to you at a time when it is not expected, so one should always
be prepared to utilize it, before it leaves him.

CHANGE

Change is an unavoidable constant in the universe. It can not be escaped
by anyone or anything living, non-living, mortal, or divine. While an
artist may never change his STYLE of art, or his preferred area of
artistry, there is always a change of motivation, inspiration,
technique, or skill. Change can come in a small form, such as
improvement, or something as major as a change in the way one prepares
his art.

Also, for those that perform it must be remembered that people change.
To repeat the same performance over and over again can be detrimental to
your career as a performer. A performer performs for his audience, and
therefore, must change as his audience changes.

WISDOM

Wisdom is undoubtedly always an important factor in any profession. One
must know the rules, how to follow them, how to be respectful, and how
to make decisions. Without those things one can not be succesful in
life, except perhaps those who do not find pleasure in the growth of the
human mind, body and spirit.

As mentioned before, these precepts guide my way in life, and have
always been a part of who I am. Without them, I surely would be lost
nearly all of the time.
