A Promise

Rangor Corten

As you know, I began my life in Eleusis under the care of the Sylvanic
Fellowship. I grew there and later parted ways with that house. I did
wander a bit after my time in the Sylvans, but I've found my true home
now. The Rangor I remember from my youth is much different than the one
I now know. I looked up to you, but I did wonder how you got away with
it all. I remember asking the Leath-ris why Hashan never dared to attack
Eleusis. Rangor, Jarrel, and Geraint would always raid Hashan so why we
were never attacked in Eleusis?

Now that I'm Mhaldorian, I can see you for what you really are. You'll
attack any group that you think will be the easiest for you, whether or
not they're harming nature. Oh, but Hashan cleared the forest to build
the city and Mhaldor is surrounded by a red fog, you might say. Now that
Mhaldor is breathing down Eleusis' neck, do you think you've made wise
decisions as Minister of War for Eleusis?

While we're speaking of Eleusis, what are the minimum requirements for
one to be called a 'forestal' these days? Let's see if I remember
here...Just join the Sentinels, right? Eleusis will let you in. You're a
'forestal.' How many more forestal occultists will be allowed to force
holocausts in the forest? Probably a few more as long as they just deny
it ever happened, right? How many of your family will continue making
enemies for Eleusis after you realize that your friends and family are
being slain within your village?

By the Church's standards, you might do well over there, Rangor. They
may be opposed to fighting evil, now, but I will be so bold as to say
that you're no longer protecting nature. You fight without thinking of
the consequences and you're unwilling to admit your mistakes. Im willing
to admit a mistake of my own.

It was wrong to attack the entire city of Ashtan by slaying their
guards. Bleak was the enemy and he was speaking on the behalf of the
entire Ashuran house. That was a mistake that I made and I'm man enough
to admit it. Concerning Ashtan, my personal hostilities will now be
focused on the Ashuran house and those few Ashtani citizens who have
made themselves my enemy.

As I shouted a few months ago, Rangor, I will continue to attack Eleusis
while you still call yourself a villager and a forestal. I will stop
fighting Eleusis once you leave the village or until I'm ordered to
cease purging the weakness that has grown in Eastern Ithmia.

Sincerely,
Osek Ironside

Penned by my hand on the 10th of Sarapin, in the year 434 AF.
