Your Interpretation of the Law

"what bothers me the most is the absolute inflexibility of Oakstone
law."
What's the point of a law if it's going to be flexible? Would you like
breaks for those who are close to nature? How would you like your fine
then, if the next day a member of a forestal -house- destroyed a garden,
but got a break for it because of their position? Laws are
one-size-fit-all, as you say, to maintain equality among all those who
follow them!
This is merely my opinion, but really you should think before you speak.
It makes no sense for laws to apply on a slide-rule, as you seem to want
them.
Sincerely,
Alchalaris Oloren
