Truth

Disturbing news have been reaching me while I stayed hidden. Letters
piled up from people trying to inform me of a great many happenings.

The meditations will wait.

Shallam, you have always stood as the City of Light. Let not your light
flicker in the long-winded machinations of a few shadowy individuals. Do
not mistake appearance for reality, and judge not in haste the events
unfolding before your eyes. The powers that be are never ones to reveal
themselves too easily, and you will have to dig deep to discover the
truth.

In your search for truth, remember that an easy answer is never a
satisfactory conclusion. To aid you in this search, let me give you a
little morsel of advice. Do not concern yourself with the "good" and
"evil" of your peers, for doing so creates an opening in your heart for
maliciousness to enter.

"Few serve truth in truth because only few have the pure will to be
just, and of those again very few have the strength to be just."

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Daedalan, in the year 429 AF.
