Shallamese auction, benevolent event or a sinister plot?

Greetings, esteemed Katia.

While I have read both of the public missives in the subject of that
upcoming event of great importance with similarly great interest, I
couldn't avoid noticing some odd things in your reply.

It seems that the first appearance of Korynne's announcement gives out
the impression that the auction is open only to the citizens of Shallam,
is somewhat incorrect, as there is a note somewhere in her post, I
believe the second one, that refers to the people not being citizens of
the city in which the auction is held.

It is true, indeed, that such auctions, where people offer their
services, and hope for the best bid, have been overused and perhaps
misused, but the result of any such auction mainly depends, in my
belief, on the people holding them, and the type of services being
offered. Oh, yes, and what the bidders expect to gain from them,
naturally.

There is one possibility of the real purpose of Korynne's post, however,
that her announcement is only a part of a much larger and devious plan
to fight Evil, Chaos and few other things that are on top of the list of
those followers of Good, which is only meant to be a test, and judging
from your response, I'd say you've failed it.

Thus, whatever the true reasons behind this particular auction are, we
can only assume them, until they are revealed, which I'm sure we are all
awaiting eagerly, or not.

Good fortune to you.

Aecius Pyroboreus.

P.S. This does mean that, of course, your claim to speak on behalf of
all Sapience, is not really accurate one, and that people still have the
choice of spending their gold how they like, even if the result seems
pointless to some.
