Why in blazes do we care?

So world, roll up, roll up, you too have the chance to own a truffle
eating, fish street loitering, sniffling shallamite. The thrills, the
spills, the general apathy!
The taking up public news posts telling us once more what bad people are
are for not caring about a city wide bake sale.. I mean slave auction
And that's just the hostess!
What delights, what thrills, what spills could await you for this much
anticipated auction!?
