Greetings

Ashtan is pleased to announce the upcoming celebration of the Rebirth of
Thera! The Theran Blossom Festival will be held in the year 425, 25
years after the rebuilding of Thera following the Vertani invasion.

As part of this festival Ashtan will be hosting a number of competitive
events, and the details for some of these are as follows.

POETRY CONTEST
--------------

The theme is Thera: Past & Present.
All entries are to be submitted to the poetry board with the subject
"Theran Blossom Festival" so that those compiling entries for its judges
can easily distinguish them from other items. The panel of judges will
include representatives from each city to ensure fairness. Winning
entries will be collated and placed into a volume which will be
presented to the Theran Archivist for inclusion in the Theran Library.
Three will also be selected as readings during the Festival. The closing
date for the poetry contest is end Phaestian, 424.

ART COMPETITION
---------------

The theme for this competition is Images of Thera. There will be three
categories, as follows:

1. Landscapes of Thera
2. The fall of Thera
3. Inhabitants of Thera, past and present

Entries are to be submitted vial preserved letter to Eliana to be
collated and presented to a panel of judges (comprised of
representatives from each city. Winning entries will feature in a volume
to be compiled and presented to the Theran Archivist for inclusion in
the Theran Library. The closing date for the art competition is end
Phaestian, 424.

HORSE RACE
----------

In honor of the now fallen Theran stables, mounts and owners will gather
in Thera's town center and be charged with racing along a particular
route across Sapience. Items will be given to each contestant at each
"key point." Contestants must return to the organizer with these items
in hand to gain standing in the race. No major teleportation will be
allowed. If you wish to compete in this race, please message Zahr so
that he can provide you with details of the route and other information
pertaining to the race.

THERAN QUIZ
-----------

A quiz will be held via a party channel, and will cover Thera's general
history, geography, and culture. A public post will be out soon,
specifying the date and time of this quiz. Keep an eye out for the post,
and if you are interested in participating in the quiz, message Eliana.


Prizes for all these events will include credits, gold, favours and
other goodies.

There are to be many other events during the Festival, these are just a
small sample of what we have in store for you all. Detailed Festival
Programs will soon be available in the Bastion Bugle, Ashtan's
newspaper. The newspaper may be purchased from Lucca, our paperboy, who
is usually to be found somewhere around Central Market in Ashtan. If
he's difficult to find, try sending him a tell asking where he is.
