Your Realm

Hail to the God of "Eogues",
My heart sang when You returned to these planes, my Lord. Although my
soul belongs to the Master of Suffering, You turned my head and I
resolved to join the Clan of the Ace of Spades hoping to learn more of
You and Your ways, putting aside deeply held enmities to do so.
And so, it was with great disappointment that I read Your pronouncement
on thieves. I had thought a thief might find a home in a place where
risk, chance and rogueishness held sway. I was wrong. Your
interpretation of Your realm is ... too narrow for those such as me. You
are neutral but leaning to Good, You tell us. How very tiresome, how
very dull. How pleasant the Garden must be with its Patron of Risk - but
only safe risks of course, a little flutter on the roulette wheel, a
throw of the dice. Nothing too dangerous, nothing too unsafe or
upsetting. Perhaps You would rename your clan, Aztecia's gang of snuggly
friends and occasional gamblers, for You seem to have no interest in
real risk or rogueishness.
And I read with interest Your justification for excluding thieves from
Your order. I was willing to learn, to understand. But I see that it is
because theft is "stupid". I reel before your Divine intellect my Lord,
the undeniable force of your arguments. I will slip once more into the
shadows, awaiting a Patron Who truly understands the life of the thief -
the thrill, the exhiliration, the chances lost and taken, the risks
willingly suffered.
I hope You enjoy your sensible risk taking and your little band of happy
wanderers.
Yours, in disappointment,
Tenebrus, a true Rogue.
