The Mhaldor/Shallam dynamic

Having spent many years in both cities I can say from observation and
experience that such a dynamic does not exist in the sense they all wish
it did. In fact, these cities are actually more similar than their fine
citizens would care to admit. The supposed opposition between the
ideals/ethos of these two cities is simply unapplied theory and
rhetoric.

Bottom line: Mhaldor isn't as Evil as they claim to be just as Shallam
isn't as Good as they claim. Neither party has the fortitude or
integrity to stay the course and do what they have so solemnly sworn to
do. All this noise will stop the instant they are distracted by
something shiny lying on the ground.
