My own two cents

Just on the heels of Klendathu's reply, I would like to point out a
coupla very simple things.
Keresis herself considers vengeance to be neutral, she said so herself
just a coupla posts back. Admittedly, that post also was railing against
Shallam, but that was for perceived slights, as opposed to an intrinsic
nature.
As to Veldrin's actions, you forget, there's also such a thing as
Justice. The only difference, that I, in my admittedly unlearned sight,
see between Justice and Vengeance, is Justice is concerned about
rebalancing scales, Vengeance rebalancing, then putting a little more
weight on for good measure. Drawing the line between the two isn't
something, I believe, you or I am suited to doing. I'll leave that to
the Divine.
As to Compassion, call it tough love. I know I always do.
