Bitter irony

Hashan was warned. Cease harbouring the thieves who run to hide behind
city walls and defences, and there would be no repercussions. Regardless
of whether Ashtan citizens do the same is of no consequence, because had
a similar circumstance occurred and another city complained to Ashtan,
it's quite possible negotiations would be undertaken. As in a recent
incident involving an Ashtan citizen and one of another city, once both
sides had been heard a decision was made, which was as fair for the
non-citizen as for the citizen.
When Ashtan called for Hashan to consider the cowards hiding behind
their defences, the only responses were arrogant, patronising mockeries.
No diplomacy, no respect, and no negotiations. Therefore Ashtan, as
warned, took action. Once again, the response to this action is mockery,
disrespect and name calling. Are the cowards the warriors who fight for
their families, friends, possessions and dignity? Or are the cowards
those who hide behind insults and denials of the truth of defeat, and
who have rarely taken steps and precautions to fight for or defend their
own city and loved ones?
I may not be as active in this war as I have been in others, but my
heart and support is with my city mates who are living and dying
fighting to uphold dignity, unity, respect, competence, diligence and
freedom. Beware Hashan. What exactly are you fighting for?
