Your issues

Well, obviously, your first problem is that you misread my post as me
offering you 200,000 gold for a bridge. I, fine customer, am selling a
bridge for 200,000 gold.

The bridges come made of brilliant masonwork, stones fitted together in
a strong bridge of mason-tastic proportions. If there is any need for
further maintenance, certainly it is the fault of none but the
proprietor of the bridge.

The hole in the ground was the optional addition to your bridge, to
properly give your bridge-users something to use a bridge upon. After
all, who would like to fall into a hole? No one! Therein lies the
brilliance of the bridge! However, since you only sent me 199,999 gold,
I assumed you desired the addition, which costs 199,999 gold. Certainly,
if you had meant to buy the bridge, you would have sent 200,000 gold.

As for what to do with your empty hole, as you lack a bridge, have you
considered selling shortcuts to the underworld?
