Tiamat and the Vertani

Well, Aelyn has spoken for Oakstone, Conor has spoken for the Druids,
Greyda has spoken for Eleusis, and I shall speak for the Sentinels. The
reason we refrained from attacking the Vertani had nothing to do with
being afraid of them. Our reasons are similar to those of the Druids,
with a slight difference. The Sentinels are allowed citizenship in any
city but Mhaldor. That right there should tell you why we wouldn't leap
to our deaths to help out Mhaldor. In other words, we had Sentinels who
were both against the Vertani and friends of them. The Vertani did not
attack anything the Sentinels are sworn to protect, and had they
threatened to do so, we would have fought them.

Tiamat decided to have a temper tantrum because of some forestals
raiding his city, and use his skills to harm what we are sworn to
protect. So he was killed. He threatened to do so again, so he was
killed. He did so again, so he was killed, et cetera, et cetera... If he
doesn't want to die, attacking the forests is a bad idea, just as would
have happened if the Vertani had done so. Granted, they were probably
capable of doing a lot more damage than one wayward forest enemy with a
bee in his bonnet, but that would not have stopped us.

You keep mentioning your time as a Sylvan, which, from what I recall,
was very short. It's especially difficult for me to believe that it has
made you an expert on the forestal way of life if you can't grasp the
fact that forestal organizations only tend to go to war as entire
organizations if Nature, or the organization itself is at stake.
Otherwise, they tend to let their individual members make up their own
minds. I can't speak for Druids, Sylvans, or Eleusis, but I know this is
true of the Sentinels.
