I did not misconstrue your post. I understood exactly what you were
saying, however, I stand by my statement that it has nothing to do with
Tiamat. No matter how loudly you shout that the Vertani situation is the
same as Tiamat, it will not make it so. I did not neglect to address
your point on the Vertani. My response is in my post...our concern is
Nature. The Vertani did not attack Nature. Again, I disagree with your
statement that the Vertani war was a war for Sapience. No, it wasn't. it
was a war for a large number of people who waged war with the Vertani. I
am not here to defend or attack the Vertani. I am simply saying that
your logic is faulty. The Vertani have nothing to do with us and our
lives in the forest. But Tiamat, or anyone else, burning the forests,
certainly does affect us...as it affects you in the end. What I think
you are failing to recognize is the individuality of mortals. We are not
all the same. Not all forestals are the same..not all Mhaldorians are
the same, nor are all Shallamites the same. Most of us follow a set of
rules or policies that may be set by our cities, guilds, or orders. But
those beliefs do not shape every decision we make. It would be a pretty
bland world if we were all cut out of the same cookie cutter molds.
One last point - you mentioned that when Tiamat committed his offenses
and then used reverse logic to blame someone else, we did not agree with
him, and yet we never objected to the Vertani doing the same thing.
Well, if my memory serves me, and I grant that at my age, it does get
foggy, there was a lot of condemning all of the Vertani for the actions
of one or two. It is always the same, you know? When you want to
complain about a group, folks just generally look for a scapegoat. Find
the single incident that will justify your massive oversimplification,
or stereotype, or whatever you want to call it....and you too, can cause
massive amounts of gold to be spent on the Public Boards on inane posts
that most of Sapience could care less about!
