Syralis,
Though I'm sure you will be refused the right to respond (unless of
course you've left Mhaldor and I failed to notice) I write anyway.
For indeed, I write not to attack you, nor to destroy you in written
word, but merely to absolve you. For you see, you've done nothing but
been a teacher, though I'm sure that was far from your intent. It is
rather unimportant to visit the details of our encounters, nor their
circumstances. I'm sure no one cares, and they could guess in any case.
One of the most difficult and challenging places in which an individual
may seek beauty is their own murder. Despite all my teachings, all that
I have learned, and all that I now teach to others whilst learning, each
death that visits me is something difficult to see as beauteous when
it's cause is murder. There are the obvious points, such as a new
beginning, the healing of wounds, a second, third, fourth chance. But
each time one must examine how their own murder can be beauteous. And I
have come to understand that your acts of violence must be forgiven, at
least on an individual level. I see now some beauty in my own murder,
and indeed, in yourself. Many will scoff, for their know your surface,
the face value of your character and your actions, but truly all is
beautiful, and it merely takes some effort to see that beauty, in any
form.
Thus I absolve thee of your sins against me Syralis. I will not wage
your war of thorns and poisons. You may safely tread the forests without
pausing to wonder if I might be watching, for truly, I will not. Your
life is your own to live. But do not take these words as free cause for
further murders. While I may have gained insight recently, my life is
still a valuable thing, and is not yours for the taking freely, no
matter how many times it has occurred in the past, or my forgiveness
now.
Your status with the Order of Selene also bears no relevance to my
personal forgiveness, for these words are not those of a Predicant of
Selene, but of an individual who coincidentally bears that title. I
forgive you but my personal feelings do not translate into any feelings
I may have as an Order member.
Be blessed Syralis, and walk in Love. May you one day come to realize
that life is beautiful: your own and that of every other living
creature.
