Rogues

I am not a Knight, I am a Sentinel, and have been one all my life. And
yet, I find myself empathizing with the guilded Knights in this current
discussion. This is something that has affected all guilds.

My guildmates and I all earned the right to claim ourselves Sentinels
proudly. It was something that had to be earned through many years. To
be a Sentinel, one had to display loyalty and love for Nature, and for
the forests, and he or she would in turn be granted the skills that
Nature provides. Now all one has to do is ask Certimene for them.

In essence, rogues, you win. You got what you wanted. You have the
fruits of the class without any of its responsibilities. And yet, a lot
of you seem to be trying to convince yourselves that you earned what you
got just as any member of the guild. You form clans exclusive to rogue
members of your class, you band together and try to help each other.
This I don't understand. If you wanted a guild, you could have joined
one.

I am, of course, grandly generalizing. There are many rogues out there
who have been such for a long time and are fine Achaean citizens. But,
surely, it's understandable why members of a Knight guild would be
annoyed when they see a new member of a Knight class proclaiming himself
to be a Knight, isn't it? It's a bit difficult to watch your guildmates
start to wonder why they are still working for things when all these
people are out there getting them for free.

I, for one, happen to believe that being in a guild is still worth it,
and I will be endeavoring to keep my guild as strong and proud as it has
been all these years.
