Knights

Dear Glithoniel.
With all due respect you are forgetting something. The Knight Guilds do
not bestow upon someone Knighthood. A Knight isn't something capable of
being bestowed upon an individual. Elitism is not Knighthood, and
Knighthood is not Elitism. To speak with such disdain on rogue Knights
dishonours yourself as you speak of what you obviously do not know.
What is a Knight? A Knight is Honourable. What does this mean? A Knight
faces his battles as a Knight head on and steadfast with his faith and
fighting spirit. A Knight does not slip into his enemies room at Knight
and slit their throat, nor does he flee like a coward from it. A Knight
would rather tilt than yield. And a Knight would rather die than
dishonour himself. A Knight has Faith in his Beliefs for they are what
he fights for. Though the Paladins and Maldaathi share opposite Beliefs
neither are less Knightly. A Knight behaves Chivalrously. He does not
call people vermin or despicable. That's common thug language. A Knight
respects everyone, even his enemies. You're not a Knight because some
figurehead ordains you. Just like you're not a Servant of Good because
you join the Priests, or Paladins, and becoming a Serpent does not make
you a thief either. People are what their actions speak them to be. Not
their Organizations. Many Prelates of the Church or leaders in the
Priest Guild can't agree on a single Definition of Good, because they do
not understand it themselves. A Guild does not make one a Knight. A
title doesn't make one a Knight. A man or a woman's actions are what
make them a Knight. To claim that only Guilds possess the power of
Knighthood is absurd and ignorant. But don't get me wrong. Having the
Class of Knight doesn't make one a Knight either. Show me a man who
demonstrates Chivalry, Faith, Honour in all aspects of his life, and
I'll show you a Knight. Be he a Rogue or a Guilded man. Perhaps you
should rethink your argument as I do not disagree that a class doesn't
make you a Knight. But a Guild or a Title doesn't make you one either.
Sincerely,
