You know, I'm just a wittle noobie in this vast world, so maybe I don't
know how things and stuff work, but doesn't wood COME from trees?

So what ya'll need to do is find a forest full of softwood (the kind
that grows really fast, unlike hardwood, which grows really slow) and
THIN it. By an axe of the dwarven variety, and chop a few down. Then
plant new ones in their place! Always replace them. Softwood only takes
20 years or so to grow back!

I mean, where do you think they got it from in Thera? Do you think it
just APPEARS there on a regular basis out of no where? Do you think that
wood is unrelated to trees? NO. They've been thinning the blackforest
for hundreds of years! It just so HAPPENS the trees there grow very
quickly.

And another thing, thinning the forests helps prevent forest fires! Bet
ya'll didn't know that! If the forest is not overrun with undergrowth
and trees that are too close to each other, fires spread more slowly!
This is why there are so few fires in the Blackforest! All thanks to the
Theran woodcutters.

Man I miss Thera. Those guys were all right. Callibius and me were
chums. And the Beast in the Crypt gave me really nice gifts! And the
houses were really useful for killing people in because of the doors. I
miss Thera. In fact, I pledge now to rebuild Thera. Bigger and better
than before! It shall be called New Thera!!! And then I shall have a
monopoly on the world's supply of wood!!! Muhahahahahaha! Scribe, don't
write that last part. Yeah, the part about monopoly on wood and the evil
laugh. Ok, it's gone? Good. Whew, that would really ruin my cover. Ok,
moving on ... It shall be called New Thera!!! The brother of the
Bastion!

I must begin construction immediately!
