culling, and trees

I am less than enthusiastic about this proposed solution to a wood
shortage problem. Just cutting out dead trees is a poor idea, taking
into account the vital role they play in the whole cycle of life that a
forest basically is.

As the wood shortage is a direct result of Vertani actions which, one
would think, have caused widespread revulsion and outrage amongst all
right-minded people in Sapience, I would join Greyda in suggesting that
the existing city-states first try to gain control over the wood market
before chopping down forests.

As far as forests are concerned - there's the Skeletal Forest on
Sartan's island, which is as dead as it can be. I suppose the red fog
hasn't corroded the wood itself too badly, though. Why not start there
in looking for wood?
