Ladies and Gentlemen, we have reached an era for drastic measures. Wood
commodities are at an all time shortage, and prices are escalating
drastically. I blame the Vertani although I'm quite sure they didn't do
it deliberately, but since the destruction of Thera, wood commodities
has increasingly become scarce.

If we don't do something about this shortage, and soon, we will begin to
see a decline in the production of many of our most important tools.
Puppets, totems, weapons, darts, campfires even precious furniture will
be at a deficit. Especially totems, we all rely on totems as part of our
security measures. I can guarantee you that if this shortage goes on
much longer totems will nearly cease to exist. Weapons? most weapons
require some wood to forge. Many of you think a "world war" with the
Vertani is eminent. Without wood many of you will not have the means to
defend yourselves.

In answer to this high demand on wood, I would like to suggest that we
begin selective "thinning" of the forests to compensate for the demand
in wood commodities. I think if we start this project now, we can
prevent mass destruction of the forests by greedy individuals who would
prefer to clear-cut entire areas. We can fell old and diseased trees
first these trees will be provide large quantities of salvageable wood
for possibly many years.

In closing I beseech you please let us begin this project now before its
to late, and we lose entire forests to the greedy demands of our
society.
