Ah, the acrimony begins anew!
To make clear - I said that 'virtually all of your folk' . . .
'regularly commit foul murder.' Dr. Love, Khairt Drac'kal - I
challenge you to substantiate your claim that I do you injury.
Please, provide for me a list of more than a few who do not
regularly murder throughout the realms and are not of Shallam.
Of course it is patently clear that the continuing and, indeed,
almost universal practice of all previous inhabitants of this plane
is to regularly and systematically extinguish the lives of
denizens wherever they may be found. Some are more discriminating
than others, to be sure, and some exceeding few do not murder
at all. But that is my point.
Spirit of the Duck - that we are the victims goes so utterly
without saying that it is ludicrous to claim otherwise. As for
the fortress being on holy ground: even your own laws define
what is organisational property, and they do not include a path
way leading up to a temple as such. And despite our not having
violated any of your own laws, still, we are negotiating privately
with the followers of Valnurana.
I see that you choose not to accept this negotiation, and to
ignore your own laws. That is also your own choice.
Many of your people bravely claim that they are unfearful and
undaunted by death. And rightly so, for indeed, death costs you
but little. It is brave to face death squarely, as some of your
own kind do.
We, too, face death squarely, though it cost us infinitely more
as individuals. You may find you have the means to extinguish us
all. You may avail yourselves of it. Whether or not you do, we
go bravely into the future, facing what may come.
Penned by my hand on the 9th of Scarlatan, in the year 387 AF.
