malice, facts, huts

Over what did I, or the Vertani, hold "blind malice?" Do elucidate. We
were at war with both Ashtan and Thera. Thera wanted to play with the
big boys, as was her right, but also took on some things that might've
been a bit past her capacity. I salute the bravery of her soldiers and
the spunk of her leader. Thera was our declared enemy in war. I held no
malice towards her.

We differ on at least one thing. I find there are few "facts," if any at
all, that are "irrefutable." Mass hallucination, conspiracy, trickery,
illusions, and more can create "facts witnessed by many."

I am not sure how Ariel's corpse came into our possession. All I know is
that we did have her corpse, and we returned it. It was oddly fused with
the earth, I later discovered, and arranged to free the corpse. This
much I know. The rest would be pure speculation on my part.

I do not recall ever using the words "rudimentary chicken huts." I am
not sure what chicken huts are, though I can guess. The village of Thera
was definitely humble. I think nobody will dispute that. Whatever I may,
or may not, have said, and I do not believe I said that, but in any
event, I believe it is fair to say that Thera was humble. The 'north
gate' was three planks of wood beaten together!

Penned by my hand on the 4th of Scarlatan, in the year 386 AF.
