Vertani Presence in Thera

This is in regards to the Vertan presence in Thera, this act is just
salt on an open wound. The Therans didn't wish your presence in their
village while they lived, and now that they are gone your construction
and infestation of their former home sickens me. It impresses me that
you can claim you are hoping to reconstruct Thera out of genuine guilt
and remorse with a straight face, while only days prior you had made the
statement "Just as you would punish a naughty child who steals cookies
from the cookie jar, so we must discipline some of those involved in the
murder." It amazed me how quickly you became regretful of the crime when
public outcry denounced your actions no matter how vehemently you
attempted to defend them. At your summit, you spoke of Ariel as if she
were a lesser, a mere leaderling. The comment was both derogative to her
and the society that she served. Finding her body cast out at the
crossroads infront of your fortress has only strengthened the utter
loathing I have for you. Now to hear you wish you rebuild Thera, as if
in atonement for your sins, and hearing you speak as if you have any
right as to how the place should be erected, that you wish there to be a
place for your kind there, disgusts me. Thera was for the Therans, a
people that stood stalwart against their oppressors. They repeatedly
cast off attempts to subjugate them, some which came from my own
City-state, but for their defiance they deserved praise and honour. The
remaining Therans are the only ones that can dictate how Thera will be
rebuilt, they are the ones that our aide is offered to when the time
comes that they wish to begin, and it is only they who will be able to
grant you absolution for what you have done. Until that time when Enfrin
or any other survivors come forward and ask for your aide, you are
nothing more than an invader sequestering yourself in a place that does
not want you.
