To Hingar, House Kortul "Diplomat"

Written by: Hawkkie's Empress of Truffles, Kirrh Jaydde-Windsong

I have been largely keeping myself out of the debate about the Vertani's
coming to Sapience, since I readlly didn't have enough knowledge of your
ways to form an opinion. You had my sympathies when you were first
attacked unprovoked.

But tell me, Hingar, where is the diplomacy in wiping out entire cities
and villages? Months ago in Ashtan you raided the city, stricking down
all those in your way. When had the children fresh from Loom Island
opposed you? How can you justify slaughtering novices whose only crime
was to be standing in their own city?

And now you have levelled Thera because of actions taken by a few
Ashtanites. Again, Hingar, I must ask-- Have you no decency? Perhaps if
the murder had been an action by all of Ashtan, you could have
retailiated against the city. As it is, horrible as the murder was, the
only ones who should be held accountable are those who committed it.
There are children in Thera. There are innocent citizens who are simply
trying to live their lives. Or were, until you took those lives away.

How would the Vertani react if we were to invade your home plane and
slaughter you children, those who had done nothing against us?

The murder of Overlord Estan was a tragedy. But it does not justify your
genocide. Nothing can justify that. Do the souls of the murdered
children somehow bring him back closer to life?

Respectfully submitted,

Kirrh Jaydde-Windsong

Penned by my hand on the 9th of Glacian, in the year 385 AF.
