The Vertani

Hello Friends, Stangers, and citizens of Sapience.

I write here humbly of the Vertani, these visitors to our fair land
who come in peace, yet kill. I do not understand the sophisticated ways
of diplomacy and politics, but I am able to spot inconsistencies between
actions and words, when they occur. I am a pitiful, frail, little soul,
too old to be catching butterflies for my bread, but not ashamed to
admit
I'm content. I have reached but the tenth circle of experience in my
years in Sapience.

The first time I reached ten I was murdered by a scoundrel in Minia.
This distressed me greatly, and from that point I did not greatly wish
to
advance, however, I killed a few rats, and regained my understanding of
battle. This was not to last, for shortly thereafter, I was gathered
with
many free citizens of Sapience at North of Thera, to discuss the
possible
threat of the Vertani, when we were brutally ambushed and slain, novices
and warriors alike.

Thankfully, through the brisk organization and heroic efforts of those
involved, everyone was swiftly resurrected, however this does not negate
the seriousness of the incident.

This attack made it clear that the Vertani do not distiguish innocents
from the guilty. They do not, through some defect in reasoning, or
otherwise, possess the compassion to take care in their exacting of
vengence.

Although, admittably, I have killed some Imps, Pixies, rats and an
occaisional crow, I do not think I qualify for unmitigated murder
for these acts. Even if it were argued that the gathering at NoT
was hostile to the Vertani, it still seems unreasonable that the
group should have been attacked before making any commitment towards
hostile actions. This is assuming that the Vertani themselves aren't
murderers like they claim all Ashtani and Mhaldorians are... or if
they have not directly so claimed, by murdering the novices of said
cities, they have commited acts which seem to scream that we are merely
objects to be exterminated at all costs.

I do not wish war for our fair land. I would however, like to understand
exactly what it is that the Vertani are doing here. I desire no harm to
come upon the Denizens of Sapience, however, who are the Vertani to
declare themselves protectors, unbidden? What protectors act with such
offence,
killing indiscriminate based on citizenry?

The actions of Xtassy and Mr.Empire (SPIN SPIN") do not justify genocide
of
the Ashtani and Mhaldorians, nor do the rash acts of fear commited since
the Vertani first began attacking citizens.

Please, listen and watch. The vertani are a strong and dangerous race.
They
have given us few tokens of peace, and many hostile acts. I pray the
inhabitants of Achaea may grow closer in these momentous and difficult
times.
We must not be seperated by false hatred, and above all we must remember
our
friendships... lest we be rent apart. Should the Vertani be false in
their honeyed words of innocence and light...

Sapience may need solidarity to stand free.

Thank you For reading this long-winded demand.
