I offered the el'Jazirans shelter inside Mhaldor during a crisis that
had befallen them, only to be rebuffed by baseless insults.

The first Mhaldorian to fall prey to the Vertani was Carmell, attacked
only because she was standing nearby. I would hardly consider her to be
initiating hostilities.
