My actions

Last month while in the city, I and other Maldaathi were called upon to
defend the city and after the raiders had slain some of our warriors, we
set out to retaliate.
Reflecting on my actions, I see that this was not the proper and
Maldaathi way to have handled this situation. The code teaches us that
the Maldaathi Knight shall exercise temperance at all times. He does not
lose his temper unduly, nor does he engage in behavior that would
reflect badly upon himself and, consequently, his fellows.
I have ignored this on that day. In the heat of battle, I lost my better
judgment to hate and revenge. When I should have backed off after the
raid was over, I continued in a hunt that reflected badly on the
Maldaathi and myself. Overwhelmed by orders from my superiors, I did not
stop to contemplate my actions and their repercussions.
A Maldaathi Knight will offer his opponent the opportunity to face him
in a duel. This I did not do, rather participating in an act of vengeful
bullying. In contradiction with our code I placed a higher value upon my
life and hate, than upon my Honour.
And lastly, the most important and relevant to this event, I as a
Maldaathi participated in a group in order to attack single enemies too
powerful to defeat alone. While it is allowed in defense of our city, I
continued with the group on the offensive mission, listening to orders
from my superiors, rather than The Code and my better judgment. It is
through my neglect of chivalric combat that I have forsaken my Honour
and placed a mark on the Maldaathi name.
To Dyzanru who was hunted and resurrected repeatedly, I offer my
sincerest apology for my part in this.
Penned by my hand on the 15th of Scarlatan, in the year 374 AF.
