Although you have some nice sentiments about wanting to be your own
person, I believe there is only once city on Sapience that espouses
freedom. Every guild and city has their own ideals, and a member of said
guild or city do not follow those ideals, why should they be allowed to
stay?

Do you truly believe that all guilds should have members that are Good,
Evil, Neutral, Chaotic, Dark, etc? I think you are forgetting why there
are numerous monk guilds, as well as serpent and magi. The class does
not define you. It is the actions of the members that define a guild and
only the members CAN define a guild.

I would not say that the Guildmasters should be working to shape the
members of the guild, but the members should be working to shape the
Guild, in the manner of the Guild's ideals.
