Your Offer to the city of Mhaldor

Greetings, Lady Trismegistus,

Allow me to begin with a short preface for my words, if you would be so
kind. When the majority of the city of Mhaldor howled for the blood of
those that worship the Father of Lies following the relief of some
sovereigns from the coffers of the Order of The Malevolent One, it was I
that chose to pursue the more restrained and cerebral processes of the
diplomat rather than the hot-blooded instincts of the savage. Father
Reznik represented Lord Twilight well and honourably, and we spoke at
great length concerning how best to address and resolve an extremely
volatile situation. However, extenuating circumstances negated our
planning, and for reasons I have not been privy to, Father Reznik has
departed the Order of Darkness. For his personal Code of Honour, I
applaud him, and he has earned my utmost respect as a result.

It is no secret that The Malevolent One has been absent for almost two
Achaean years, tending to matters of importance to Him and His servants
beyond the detection of our mortal senses. The Lord of Evil stated so,
Himself, in His declaration of war to the Father of Lies, citing this
very absence as a time in which the opportunistic Order of Darkness felt
it appropriate to conduct their thefts, thefts proudly claimed by Lord
Twilight Himself. Now that The Malevolent One has returned, He has made
that declaration of war. This declaration has been accepted by Lord
Twilight with what may be construed as confidence, and also a reference
to an education He has received at the hands of Lady Selene on the
matter of 'Infinite Love'. Now we have been presented with a mellifluous
speech from His High Priestess that calls the destruction of the Order
of Darkness' Shrines a gift of joy from those that walk in the shadow,
and given freely so that the city of Mhaldor may benefit from a feeling
of accomplishment with their destruction. So then as the Tyrannus of
Mhaldor, Lady Trismegistus, I convey to you our response.

I, personally, am familiar with the teachings of the Order of Darkness.
I have perused at great length tomes written by your Patron concerning
the "arts" of social interaction and manipulation, many of which are
evidenced quite plainly in your plea to Mhaldor: the compliments are
numerous, not only to the city itself, but her citizens, as well as The
Malevolent One, the transparent expressions of regret and the
reassurance that "I am but a mortal", in your own words, while welcoming
the city of Mhaldor as your "friends" in order to successfully establish
a feeling of superiority in the Mhaldorian citizenry by appealing to
egotism, and therefore render your listeners more pliable and willing to
be won over by your words, all methods passed along to the Order of
Darkness by "Twilight, the Humble" in books penned by His own hand. Such
an attitude of social manipulation, especially when one considers that
they originate from a Deity that names Himself the Father of Lies, can
hardly be confused with a Way that is of "Perfect Love and Perfect
Trust".

Your apology for branding citizens of Mhaldor enemies of the Father of
Lies is appreciated for what it is, but unnecessary, Lady Trismegistus.
Were it my choice, I would rather the incidents would simply not have
transpired as they did. However, as they say, what is done is done. The
citizens of Mhaldor have no interest in sowing your "seeds of Being", or
the fact that you may view the destruction of your Shrines as a gift to
the city of Mhaldor. They shall be eradicated, regardless, not out of a
need for Mhaldor to feel a sense of accomplishment, but merely as a
reminder of transgressions done us by your Order, and your Patron.

I am absolutely certain that in the education provided by Lady Selene to
the Order of Darkness, She has mentioned that there is Beauty in all
things. Though I do not profess to be a scholar in the ways of Beauty,
nor do I speak for Lady Selene or Her Order, the Beauty of each Shrine
of Lord Twilight being reduced to little more than dust has been
appreciated with great relish.

With respect,

Khoraji,
Tyrannus of Mhaldor
