Orphans

Greetings.
As one well-versed on the subject of orphans, I feel it is time for me
to weigh in on the subject.
Shallam's argument goes something like this. "But... you're killing the
cute little orphans! Sarapis told us they die! They die! You shouldn't
kill them! You're lying about killing them! SARAPIS TOLD US YOU KILLED
THEM!"
In response...
Yeah, we do. We kill them. We joke about the "thunk" sound made when
they're taken away.
So what?
They run around the city, picking up anything and everything on the
ground, and generally making nuisances of themselves. Also, I might add
that Shallam's orphans quickly begin to resemble walking treasure chests
from the loot they pick up from the Jewel's streets.
They serve a greater purpose in our hands. A far greater purpose than
providing entertainment for Shallam and then mysteriously vanishing.
What happens to orphans after their brief stay in the Choir?
Why are so few of them in the room with Handel?
What happens to the others?
In summary... we enroll orphans. Do we know they die? Yes. Do we dispute
this? No, we just love watching you have your little righteous
freakouts. Do we care that they die?
Nope!
