Forging contest

Are you a smith?

Do you believe you are the best one around?

If so, fire up the forge and prove your worth!

And if you're not, but you want good weapons, just skip the first part
and read the bit at the bottom.

The Church will be holding a forging-contest open for everyone to enter,
whether you are a young novice or an old guildmaster! There are no
age-limits, guild-limits, rank-limits (apart from those that apply to
your guild of course)... in short, no limits at all!

Rules:

------------
Cathegories:
------------

There will be 8 cathegories:
- Best rapier
- Best battleaxe
- Best whip
- Best longsword
- Best broadsword
- Best dirk
- Best throwing axe
- Best trident/spear

-----------
Submitting:
-----------

You can enter one weapon per cathegory. If you submit another weapon,
the weapon received last will be the one judged. Submissions will be by
mail to me. The fee is 250 gold per weapon submitted. After the judging
there will be an auction, and if you do not want your weapon entered you
must write so in your application. You will get 85% of the selling price
and the remaining 15% will go to the Church.

--------
Judging:
--------

The weapons will be judged by a panel of judges. These judges will not
know eachother, and I will be the only one knowing who the judges are.
The judges will not see the actual weapons, so they will not be able to
see who made a weapon. If a judge should reveal themself, they will no
longer be a judge. If someone tries to bribe them, the one that tried to
bribe will be out of the running in _all_ cathegories they entered and
the weapons will be confiscated and sold at the auction with no money
going to the smith (more on the auction later).

-------
Prizes:
-------

The winner of each of these cathegories will get prizes.

The prizes consists of the following:
- 10% of the total submission-fees
- A Divine Favor from Lord Phaestus
- The honor of being known as one of the best smiths around

There will also be a special prize awarded to the best forged weapon
overall, consisting of the TrueFavor of Lord Phaestus as well as 20% of
the submission-fees. All weapons submitted will automatically be judged
for this. This cathegory will be judged before the other cathegories,
and the winning weapon will not be judged in an individual cathegory.

-----------
Afterwards:
-----------

After the judging is complete and all the winners announced, there will
be an auction of all weapons entered in the contest, so if you want to
buy one of the best weapons in the realms you'd better start saving
those shiney gold sovereigns!

Penned by my hand on the 7th of Phaestian, in the year 371 AF.
