Jaru's citizens and war

Has anyone thought to think about how the people of Jaru feel about this
war, or did I totally miss that? I remember a simpler time in Jaru, when
people weren't afraid to walk through the town. When laughter filled the
air along side the calls of the fishermen, before the cobblestones were
stained red. Now...what pain has been wrought upon this village? They
did nothing to deserve their town being used as a burial ground, or have
they decided to redecorate with heads upon pikes? Mhaldor, you wanted
the streets to run red with blood, yes? To 'cull' the herd of the weak
maybe? Or perhaps your citizenry was unjustly attacked in Jaru's
border...but think on this. What happens when this war destroys Jaru? It
may not have a large effect now...but what about later, when the
fighting seeks other places to dwell, other villages to destroy? Who
then will plow the fields? Who then will fish and hunt, providing food
for the world? Shallam, with words of peace...was it an isolated
incident that sparked this war in Jaru? Or is this something that will
never find a resolution? Are you willing to watch innocent people die
over and over again? I'm not trying to say anyone is right, or wrong.
I'm trying to speak for those who have no voice. What do the people of
Jaru want? Surely not to cower in their houses, or decreased commerce
due to people fearing death at Jaru. Why don't you move this war to a
place where no innocents will suffer from a stray arrow, or a misfired
spell? Why not the desert, or the plains? Jaru may be the prize you both
seek...but at what cost? And will anything be left to claim when the
dust clears and the blood is gone?
