What you want

I am not certain how things are done off the mainland, but here in
Shallam we don't believe that you should suffer for six months or longer
just because a few of your citizens decide that the kidnapping of
children and holding them either to exchange for virgins to rape, obtain
gold, or just outright kill them is a fun pastime. But did you think
that members of your city can get away with this without consequences?

You speak of honour, yet you apparantly feel that it is perfectly
honourable for your citizens to murder children. That is not honourable,
and thus your city is not honourable for condoning this action. And
quite frankly, the vast majority of your citizens show no honour at all.
Those that do are rarely heard from.

And do you really believe that we're going to do something you want?
Let's face it, Shallam doesn't like Mhaldor, and Mhaldor doesn't like
Shallam. Why would we respond in a way that is going to please you?
Neither of us are in the business of keeping our enemies happy, yet you
seem to act surprised when we respond in a way that doesn't please you.
To see your "surprised" and "appalled" reactions when we don't do
something that goes according to your plan is quite amusing.
