Hello fellow Shallamese,

I am not here to preach nor to tell other what they should be doing or
not doing. My concern is the move to ban something which firstly is up
to the individual to decide what they will do or not.

I personally have no interest in any of the drugs available here int he
realms (waste of money- credits are much more fun and addictive.),
however I also feel telling people they are not allowed to try something
often drives, or gives coverage to something which most people would
otherwise ignore. As it has already been "newsed" about previously I
thought I would throw in my two cents. And this is with no disrespect to
the previous posties (both of whom I have a great deal fo respect for.)

While Gleam obviously has some very dangerous side effects it also can
lead to death..just like alcohol. However just like alcohol one can go
through rehab, no matter how unpleasant. Personally being told what i
can eat or not, drink or not, or otherwise grates with me. As long as my
behaviour doesn't effect others, nor reflects upon others I should think
that I would be able to continue in my own habits. If a drug is
compulsive ( as alchohol caqn be.) it is up to the individual to seek
help if they become addicted. Am I encouraging the use of such.
Definately not. Personally don't take it, waste of money for so little
gain in my humble opinion.

However I will not tell others what they can or can't do with their
bodies if it doesn't effect myself or those whom I am responsible for.

With regard to this I can see the downside. Addiction is not pleasant.
If one is addicted I recommend you seek HELP now!

Lastly this is the first time such a substance has been made available
by the Gods (peer Gods *grin*) but I would suggest restrictions on it
will not make it unavailable but rather available underground. Maybe if
Shallam was somehow to control the substance within the city, with
liscenced sellers responsible to the council for control and
responsibility for the actions of those that had purchased it in the
first place. A register of Clients would make things easy to identify.
Just ideas. personally I stick with the don't ban it and don't take it
brigade.

Regards a humble Citizen.
