Shrines in the forest

Now, I'm not exactly uncritical towards Oakstone policies myself, but
here I really fail to see what the fuzz is about. As Rangor states,
shrines (except those of anti-Nature Gods) can be placed freely unless
Oakstone judges it to be detrimental for Forest defenses. That sounds
like a perfectly reasonable policy to me. As people mentioned, shrines
can be used as weapons of war - and it seems to me to be a matter of
simple common courtesy to deal with Oakstone before you raise such a
weapon of war in the Forest. If you're going to bash Oakstone, at least
use some arguments that make sense.

I believe it was Starrsong who mentioned Guild policies on Grove
imprinting, and though I cannot speak for either of the Grove-using
Guilds, I believe that they do keep track of who imprints where,
particularly by outlawing imprinting by novices until they reach a
certain level of skill.

As a Grove user, I am also, I believe, bound to at least a gentleman's
agreement not to imprint in a place with a shrine without permission of
the Order in question. So, it's a matter of give and take. We Forestals
have to make compromises in order for others to raise their shrines in
the Forest.

So what is this about? People believing it is some kind of inalienable
right to raise shrines where they want in the Forest without even
informing the organization that is responsible for it's defense? Come
on.
