First of all, where do you get the idea we all have to die? We all do,
multiple times in fact, but we don't -have- to, that we know of. Death
comes in two forms in this land, one in which happens to everyone, where
we make a mistake, and so die to it, and we come back. Now, not only is
this death uneccessary, but it is unpleasant to boot. The second is
someone committing suicide, and I ask you, is that a terribly pleasant
thing? To have a good friend do that? Maybe you are referring to some
other form of death, but since none of us has experienced it, I don't
really care to hypothesize on it.
Second, the reason Death is not allowed as an order choice in Shallam at
least, I feel (I do not speak from an official standpoint, but then,
neither do you), is because it is fairly clear where Thoth's allegiance
lies. His order is based in Mhaldor, his followers, at least, those I
know of, are primarily Mhaldorian, and the process for his coming back
wasn't exactly the kind of thing that Shallam would smile on.
So no, it isn't some inevitable force that takes everyone away, it is
something that, based on current evidence, at least, is unnatural for us
(I.e., it is, as far as we know, completely avoidable, hence...), and
inherently painful.
