My thoughts on the current event: the Enchantment Treaty

Greetings,
Resistance rings: Everyone argues "They don't even resist that much, so
what sense does it make to have them be illegal?"
I say: If the rings don't give that much protection, why do you all care
so much whether we prohibit them or not? Also, I've seen some of the
prices people are willing to pay to have these rings, and for such
"fickle" rings that don't give all that much protection, why are people
willing to spend thousands upon thousands of gold sovereigns to have
them? An awful large amount of you arguing against the Treaty seem to
want these near useless items that barely give any resistance and don't
even last that long and are willing to pay large amounts of gold and/or
credits for them.
There must be some mystical use for them for non-Mages that we Mages
don't know about, otherwise I can't see the big deal in having them be
illegal.
Knife and Cube sigils: Everyone argues "They affect other guilds too,
not just Magi guilds."
I say: The concept is quite simple. The Council of Magi is comprised of
members from each of the 4 Magi-class guilds. These people also
represent the cities with which their guilds reside. It is true that
both knife and cube sigils can be used against classes other than the
Magi class, however certain representatives wished to keep their fellow
citymates and fellow city guilds out of harms way. I would feel the same
way if I were in their shoes.
Enchantment skill: Everyone argues "Stop being so selfish with your
skill."
I say: Indeed, Sarapis blessed us Mages with a profitable skill and on
the same token blessed us with the ability to choose whether or not we
wanted to take advantage of this profitable skill. This doesn't mean we
have to share it with all of Sapience. Is it selfishness or are we just
looking out for each other? Maybe it's both or maybe it's neither, but
one thing is for sure: I am not a forestal.
Sincerely,
Horatio Moonflair
