*smile* here's a little theory I have as to where the butterflies come
from. It's in story form. It's hardly my best work but it's something...
The little girl smiled as her mother kissed her on the forehead and
tucked her into bed. She held her teddy bear close as her mother gently
moved a few strands of hair from the angelic face.
"Where do butterflies come from mommy?" the little girl asked in hopes
of finding out and staying up a bit later. The mother smiled down at her
little girl and saw the wide-eyed innocence in her face.
"Well, my little Rana, butterflies are very special creatures. Long,
long ago, when Sarapis made the divine and the many other things, He
pondered long and hard on the beauty that this new world could have. He
saw the flowers and the lovely glades, the waterfalls and all the other
wonderous things He made. But He though to Himself that there was
something missing. He smiled softly as He walked through the garden. He
noticed that all the flowers still had fresh dew upon them. Sarapis
closed His eyes in thought and a golden bowl formed in His hands. He
went to each and every flower and collected the dew from them, gently
tilting them downward until the bowl was full. Walking back to His
magnificent study, Sarapis carefully set the bowl on the table and
looked into it. He closed His eyes again and touched the water with a
single finger. The water swirled and moved when He opened his eyes, the
water was hovering in mid-air. It writhed there as it began to shape
itself into the form of the butterfly. Sarapis smiled at the watery
shape, pleased with it and He touched it again. The wings and body
crystalized into delicate and intricate glass. Then, with a small kiss,
rainbows began to cover the butterfly's glass body and the new creature
landed softly on Sarapis' palm. With a single word, the little heart
inside the butterfly began to beat. With a tender hand, He let the
butterfly into his garden."
The mother looked down at her little girl who was fast asleep, clutching
her teddy bear. She smiled softly at her little Rana and kissed her
forehead again before blowing out the candle and tiptoeing out of the
room.
....well, I'm guessing that He maybe made one more and they made lots of
little butterflies. The all flit down from the Gardens to Vellis and
other delightful spots to land and soak up the sun and drink the sweet
nectar. Hope that helps.
Snuggles for everyone!! Cen
