Hashan's place in the world

Greetings,

To ask where Hashan lies in this world is a very fair question. To state
that we were entirely reliant on the ethics of Darkness however, isn't a
fair statement. I'll admit it - Lord Twilight left because one person's
idea, prompted by suggestions from other's caused a regilious divide in
the city, which was swallowed up in bearaucracy. It was a classic case
of loyalism - neither side wanted to yield, and the city broke down as a
result.

But.......

If you think I'm saying this destroyed Hashan, think again - that was
only the reason why Twilight left - You should know that while he left
of his own accord, it was already suggested that he might be ejected
from the city for endangering the lives of everyone with his expiriments
- many of you may remember and have lived though the chaos taint some
years ago. Some of you may even have lost your lives to it - was it
really not showing backbone to talk about ejecting him?

Hashan then evolved, it's wounds healed, and it remained a great city,
quiet, admittedly but great. Without meaning to insult, many in this
land view what consistitues a great city as the one that flexes the most
muscle, the one with the potential to dominate and control these lands.
Hashan offers stability and neutrality - every citizen is entitled to
their own views in a free speech environment and we hold no extreme
ideology. All we ask for is absolute loyalty and compliance with the
law. The purpose of a city is to live in, and that's what we offer, even
if we're not so high-profile internationally, but that isn't a sign of
weakness - it's a sign of greatness.

And the best thing, the thing that makes me proud to be a Hashanite? The
spirit - whatever, and I mean WHATEVER we face there are always
Hashanites willing to give everything to our cause, and I'm more than
proud to be a member. The true Hashanite is the one who even if Hashan
were a name only, would still be standing there and fighting for it.
