Dearest Ranzou,
You suffer from a condition I have had much of my life, being
misunderstood. I got the point of your post, you were trying to state
the uses of resurection by various groups and why you were downgraded
and others were not. I am not sure if you have realised this but the
classleads, one of which was from all those classes you saw probally
recomended it, although this is by no means the only way that it could
have happened.
If I could I will clarify a few things regarding the abilities to renew
or prolong life. Firstly you showed it yourself, Resurection by Devotion
weilders has a chance of failure dependent on alignment. This makes it
nowhere near fullproof. Not only that but you cannot resurect yourself,
nor can you resurect someone without the corpse. This would explain
quite easily why it is not a transcendent skill. I personally would
happily trade my trans Devotion skill for soulcage, and I know many
church members who would also as the cons far outweigh the pro's
compared to soulcage. Soulcage can be done to yourself, and hence is far
more powerful than resurection. I can help others avoid exp loss, but
can I do the same to myself. No, I cannot. Yes the devotion cost may not
seem high to you, but believe me it is, I have run out of Devotion
Resurecting and Delivering people before and this came with no benefits
to myself, unlike soulcage. Grove Resurection is also a very powerful
skill, compared to Devotional Resurection as it does not require a
corpse. If Person A kills Person B, myself as Person C would have to
hunt down Person A and kill them before I could resurect person B again.
Making the whole procedure rather tiresome. Grove Resurection avoids
this small but often overlooked problem with my Devotion.
However after all this blathering there is one simple fact that we as
mortals must adhere to. The gods do what they will when the whim takes
them and we cannot stop this. I have learnt, often the hard way, that
even if I feel a Divine is wrong and unjust thats just the way it is. If
you also feel that your Soulcage ability has given the opposition an
unfair advantage there is little you can do but wait and see what the
next thing to happen is. For decades Gravehands was mythical and Piety
was Transcendant Devotion, however there was nothing we could do about
it, but that was eventually fixed adn we rejoiced! Maybe one day you can
also.
