The spirit of the law.

Surely, Morkael, with all of your years as Fion and time within serving
the Oakstone Council, you would have realized by now that the spirit of
the law and willingness to protect that which is Nature has little to
what will actually get you enemied.

The Oakstone Council is old, outdated, and useless... It is now Eleusis
that provides a city of sorts for forestals who wish to be and work
together, and if the forests of Sapience could defend itself by
automatically realizing that someone who is exterminating or otherwise
burning plantlife is an enemy, Oakstone would be even less useful. The
times the great burnings are behind you, Sapience. Those who plagued you
before can no longer even sprint the woods on their way to Azdun, much
less hang around and wreck more havoc. These days, Oakstone is simply a
figurehead, run by angry old men waving around rather large sticks,
quite ready to bring the Wrath of Nature around your head for bypassing
the great magic and immaginary number, set oh so long ago by people no
one remembers... Well, except for maybe Krissandra... She was old when
_I_ was young.

Ramble on, Sapience!
Shade

Penned by my hand on the 11th of Daedalan, in the year 344 AF.
